Couples Therapy:
When conflict occurs in a relationship, people are often afraid to talk for fear of being misunderstood. When this occurs, individuals grow apart and begin to see only the faults in the relationship not the strengths.
In couples therapy, we begin to explain why disagreements have become so painful, and we work on developing new, more effective communication skills.
Common couples issues are: finances, parenting, different values and goals, intimacy concerns, disagreements about in-laws, step-families, anger management, marital affairs, influence of past traumas on current family functioning, alcohol and drug use.
